About

I love to paint the wide-open spaces of rural America. No matter the season, I find endless inspiration in the colors and composition of sunlight and shadow falling across weathered barns and country roads in the rural landscape.

I first picked up a paintbrush in a high school art class, which led to college and a BA in Art Education. A busy family life and a corporate career in Information Technology left little time for painting but I always managed to knock out a canvas or two. Then, while on vacation several years ago, I encountered a Plein Air festival and dozens of talented artists outside painting the landscape. I was immediately hooked and set a goal to someday capture scenes as well as the artists I met. I broke out my easel when I got home and have never put it away.

Having rekindled my passion for painting, I paint several times a week and when I am not painting, I am looking at the world with canvas and color in mind. My iPhone is full of pictures that will become paintings and I have been known to abruptly stop the car if the clouds or scenery are just right. I am extremely fortunate to have collectors in 20 states, five countries on three continents.
